When you didn't get the apology you deserved. Let it go! When you didn't get the last word in. Let it go! Be willing to lose the battle so that you can win the war. You were not meant to carry offenses and unforgiveness. They will keep you caged in like an angry dog. Learn to let it go!
Let's learn from the duck. The duck has the ability to get into water without water getting into her. Have you ever wondered why a duck appears to remain dry even during the time she is in the water?
If you've ever taken the time to watch ducks long enough, you will find that they spend a lot of time nibbling their feathers with their beaks. I use to think they were always relieving themselves of pesky fleas or other annoying invaders that might be attacking their skin, but much to my surprise, something more amazing was actually taking place.
When ducks nibble their feathers, it is called preening. Preening is the process by which a duck spreads oil all over the top of her feathers. The oil secretes from a unique place found near her tail's end, and while she is spreading the oil, it makes her feathers waterproof. Water cannot penetrate pass the first layer of her oily feathers, which keeps all of her feathers underneath dry and keeps her warm and cozy.
Learn and Discern:
May your life be like a duck. May the oil of GOD's Word spread over you to protect and cover you making it impossible for the waters of doubt, fear, offense, and unforgiveness to get into you.
You are an important vessel of GOD sailing on the troublesome waters of life. Your cargo carries the oil of light, life, and love of #Jesus. It also carries the healing power to a dying world. But there will be many invaders that will attempt to board your ship only to sabotage it from the inside. Quack it off by preening.
Do not allow the tumultuous waves of the sea and the vehement rain of life to drown out, snuff out, and wash away the fire within. By keeping the feathers of your armor greasy and oiled with GOD's Word, you will quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, while staying protected and snugged on the inside. For the oil burning on the inside will continually provide the lubricant needed for the outside. ~2015 Narda Goodson, Daily Doses of Gospel PiLLs
